CBC Searchlight Contest: Please Vote Daily!

Hey All,

Hope you had a great Easter long-weekend! We sure did. Back-to-back shows at a couple of our fave spots that both turned into awesome nights and then a lazy Sunday.

Quick favour to ask: Please visit http://music.cbc.ca/artists/The-Clearing and vote for us in the CBC Music Searchlight contest! We are sneak-premiering a new song called "Right Here at Home" exclusively debuting on during this contest! Listen to the song, and if you like it, vote and share! Also, you can vote every day, and from every device! So this adds up quick!

Looking forward to doing some more cool stuff like this going forward. Stay tuned!

5 Years Since 'Comfort In A Sound'

It's been a wild ride over the years. 5 years ago, we were recording 'Comfort In A Sound' at EMac Studios in London, Ontario with producer, Matt Grady (we were also watching Canada win the World Cup). The photos in the CD were taken by the amazing fashion photographer, Scott Lennon at his studio and his puppy Reilly already loved the tunes.

Happy 5th birthday to our first CD! Here's to many more!

Check out some behind the scenes during the production.

Happy Family Day! Introducing: Stages, Volume 1.

Family Day in Ontario today, and it's freeeeezzzzziiinnnggg! Pipes are freezing but hearts are warm, mostly because it's a long weekend.

The Clearing is happy to be taking part in a project called "Stages" which is a compilation of independent, Canadian music, which will raise money for Children's Health Foundation. We're raising money on IndieGogo.com to save enough to manufacture and market the compilation, with all profits going to this great cause, which helps to bring hope and health to so many children and their families. Please visit the campaign and help out by contributing a couple dollars and sharing the project with your friends and family. We'd really appreciate your support!

Through the Looking Glass

Thanks to everyone who came out to Techs, Love, Rock 'N Roll 2, raising money for Softchoice Cares. We had a blast sharing the stage with some great acts at The Great Hall!

The event raised over $4000 !

Softchoice Cares funds a variety of projects and causes aimed at furthering computer literacy and providing access to technology to those in need in our local communities and around the world. Over the years they've partnered with One Laptop per Child, Developing World Connections, the Technology Access Foundation as well as Habitat for Humanity. Through Project Connect they're supplying new computers and internet access in newly built Habitat for Humanity homes. Project Connect also gives Softchoice employees the opportunity to volunteer locally by educating participating families on the use and set up of these computers.

Classic mirror selfie thanks to the cracked ol' iPhone 4. Hairy bunch eh?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We'd like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year too. If you're partying it up in Toronto on NYE, we'll be playing at the Mill Street Brew Pub in the Distrillery District from 9pm until 1am. No cover, just awesomness!

Cheers and rock on!
